Adding Live Alerts to Your Stream

Get notified on stream every time someone sends you a tip so you can thank your supporters in real time.

What Are Live Alerts?

Live alerts are pop-up notifications that appear on your stream whenever you receive a tip on any goal (including general tips). They include a sound and visual animation so you and your viewers know when support comes in.

Setting Up Live Alerts

Go to Settings → Stream

Find your unique Stream Alert URL and copy it

Open OBS (or your streaming software)

Add a new Browser Source

Paste the URL into the URL field

Set the dimensions to 800x800 (recommended) - you can adjust later

That's it! You'll now see alerts pop up on stream whenever someone tips you.

Positioning Your Alerts

The alert will appear within the browser source area. Position the source where you want alerts to show - common spots include:

Centre of screen (for maximum visibility)

Bottom third (less intrusive)

Corner placement (subtle but visible)

Adjusting Alert Volume

If the alert sound is too loud or quiet:

Right-click the browser source in OBS

Select Properties

Enable Control audio via OBS

Use the Audio Mixer panel to adjust volume

This lets you balance the alert sound with your mic, game audio, and music.

What Triggers Alerts?

You'll receive an alert for:

Tips to any of your goals

General tips (not tied to a specific goal)

Every tip triggers an alert, so you'll never miss a chance to thank your supporters.

Troubleshooting

Alerts not showing?

Check the URL is correct (copy it again from Settings → Stream)

Make sure the browser source is visible in OBS

Try refreshing the browser source (right-click → Refresh)

After trying the above, test the alert by clicking the Test Alert button in Settings → Stream

No sound on alerts?

Check that OBS audio isn't muted for the browser source

Enable "Control audio via OBS" and check the mixer

After trying the above, test the alert by clicking the Test Alert button in Settings → Stream
