SPONSABot for YouTube

Get automatic chat messages in your YouTube live stream whenever you receive a tip or complete a goal.

What Is SPONSABot?

SPONSABot is a chat bot that sends messages to your YouTube live chat when:

  • Someone sends you a tip
  • A goal is completed

This helps your community see and celebrate tips in real time, even if they miss the on-screen alert.

Connecting SPONSABot to YouTube

  1. Log in to sponsa.app
  1. Go to Settings → Chatbot
  1. Click Connect next to YouTube (or toggle it on)

  1. Google will ask you to authorise SPONSA — click through to grant the required permissions

Note: Google requires us to ask for permission to "view and manage your videos and playlists" but we only need this so SPONSABot can post messages in your live chat. We don't access or modify your videos.

  1. You'll be returned to SPONSA with a confirmation message

Adding SPONSABot as a Moderator

For SPONSABot to send messages properly (including links to your goals), you need to add it as a moderator:

  1. Go to YouTube Studio
  1. Click Settings (bottom left)
  1. Select Community moderation → User management
  1. Find the Standard moderators section
  1. Add the following link as a Standard moderator:

https://www.youtube.com/@SPONSABot

  1. Click Save

SPONSABot is now ready to send messages in your live chat!

Customising SPONSABot

You can choose which events trigger chat messages:

  1. Go to Settings → Chatbot on SPONSA
  1. Use the toggles to enable/disable:
      • Tip received messages
      • Goal completed messages
  1. Click Save Changes

Troubleshooting

SPONSABot not sending messages?

  1. Disconnect and reconnect - Go to Settings → Chatbot, disconnect YouTube, then reconnect
  1. Log out and back in - Sometimes a fresh login fixes connection issues
  1. Check moderator status - Make sure SPONSABot is added as a Standard moderator in YouTube Studio

Messages not including links?

SPONSABot needs moderator status to post links. Add https://www.youtube.com/@SPONSABot as a moderator in YouTube Studio if you haven't already.
