What Information Can Supporters See?
A common question from creators - here's what personal information is visible to supporters when they tip you.
What Does SPONSA Share?
Privacy is our top priority. SPONSA only shares essential information with your supporters, which is typically just your SPONSA username.
Your email address, PayPal email, earnings, and other personal details are never shared by SPONSA.
What Does PayPal Share?
Since tips go directly from supporters to your PayPal account, PayPal shares certain information on transaction receipts.
We can't control what PayPal displays, but here's the good news: SPONSA requires a Business PayPal account, which means supporters will only see your business name on their receipt - not your personal details.
What's Visible on PayPal Receipts?
When supporters view their PayPal receipt, they'll typically see:
- Your business name (the name on your PayPal Business account)
- The transaction amount
- The date of the transaction
- A reference to SPONSA
Your personal name, email address, and other private details are not shown.

Removing Your Phone Number from Receipts
If you were prompted to enter your phone number as a "Customer Service Number" when connecting PayPal, you can remove it:
- Log in to PayPal
- Go to Profile Settings
- Click Phone → Update
- Select Remove next to the Customer Service Number
This prevents your phone number from appearing on supporter receipts.

Choosing Your Business Name
When setting up your PayPal Business account, choose a business name that you're comfortable with supporters seeing. Most creators use their channel name or creator brand.
You can update your business name in PayPal under Account Settings → Business Information if needed.
